I can\u2019t remember a time when I didn\u2019t draw or craft. My exercise books at school were always covered in doodles. I used to design outfits for my Sindy dolls. I even got hold of an unattended paint stirrer and decorated my parents new cream leather sofa with orange gloss paint (I was 2 years old and it was the 70\u2019s, what can I say?!). I\u2019ve tried lots of different styles, and mediums, but when I was 50 I took a course on folk art, and it changed my life! It stole my heart\u2026I started painting every day, even doing timelapse videos of me painting for my nieces as they loved to watch the process but with a child\u2019s attention span! Around the same time and totally unrelated, I started learning about the damage fast fashion was doing to the planet. I\u2019ll hold my hands up and say I had a frequent shopper at a lot of the fast fashion sites, but getting extremely frustrated with the poor quality of the garments I was buying. So I started to investigate, and tried to shop better. The trouble was, I couldn\u2019t find exactly what I wanted - folk art style designs on sustainable, ethically produced clothing. It was then I decided to do something about it, and create my own, and after a lot of research - here we are!<\/p>

One of the main reasons I started Folk and Flora was because I couldn't find what I wanted on the high street, and certainly not from fast fashion brands, and so I thought there must be others out there like me - frustrated with the lack of quality and accountability with the high street and online clothing industry.<\/p>
I wanted sustainability and ethics to be at the heart of everything I do, from the growing of the organic cotton to the recyclable packaging it arrives at your door in.
